1. Treat every firearm as if it was a loaded firearm.
  2. Be sure of your target before you pull the trigger.
  3. Never point a firearm at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
  4. Always carry a firearm so that the muzzle is under control.
  5. Firearms must always be unloaded when carried into camp or not in use.
  6. Make sure the barrel and action are clear of obstructions.
  7. Unattended firearms must be unloaded.
  8. Never climb a fence or ditch with a firearm.
  9. Never shoot at flat, hard surfaces, or the surface of the water.
  10. Avoid alcohol and drugs while hunting.
